This Is The Hour...

It's been a helluva long ass week, but we finally finished our first weekend of Miss Saigon.
*Rewind to last Tuesday* The technical and dress rehearsals leading up to opening night were tedious (to say the least). There was a bit of a learning curve with the backstage crew which slowed things down [I may end up with a sandbag falling on my head for saying that]. There was even one run through on a dress rehearsal night, where the helicopter was lifted off just a tad early, leaving Chris behind in Vietnam. That would change the whole story just a tad...ya think?! It was pretty funny though.
From what I heard and the audience response, opening night was a hit. The newspaper review will be out tomorrow.
Saturday night was even better according to Lili. Personally, I wasn't feeling it. I was extremely tired and didn't have much energy and focus that performance. I think the whole week of sleeping late and waking up early, plus nervousness, caught up to me. The show went smoother nonetheless...EXCEPT that Kim's mic-pack fell in the toilet when she was taking a piss during the show...so her mic didn't work for her beginning of "I Still Believe". Hahaha...Never a dull night! After the show, we had some late night snacks and drinks with sheilz and wydtung, Teenz, her friends, and her "other-Mr. Snuffaluppaguss" brother (I seriously did not know he existed). It was a fun night of laughter and good times.
Today, our Sunday matinee, was just bang on. I had a great night sleep and finally felt rested. I felt I flowed amazingly on stage today. Everybody sounded great...AND our backstage crew finally ran smoothly.
*sigh* Finally...some much needed rest!

Here's a clip of Teenz at our first dress rehearsal. Pardon the quality, they obviously forgot to set the spotlight...and the director did move the distracting lapdance couple over a bit. Teenz, you rock! Enjoy!

Oh...Before I forget, I have to tell you this backstage story between Teenz and I while we were getting our costumes ready for our bows one night:

Teenz: Can you help me with this?
Brox: [Puzzledly looking at Teenz's unzipped bustier from the back] Sure.
[unhooks Teenz's bra with one hand]
Teenz: [with bra falling off] NO, NOT THAT!!! I need my bustier done up!
Brox: [mortified] I'M SORRY! THAT'S ALL I KNOW HOW TO DO!!!

Congrats on the show!! I wish I could be there to cheer you on!!

After your character died, I woulda stood up angrily and yelled, "Booo... REFUND! REFUND!! I came to see Chris for the WHOLE show!" hahaha...

and I lurrve the Broxism bra episode. I assumed that you thought since Teenz was playing a whore that she'd want to stay in character even during the bows, hence no bra required. ;)

btw the YouTube vid is taking a while to load. Any ideas? I guess the traffic to that clip is chockers!

WHAT? THUY DIES? I would so ask for my money back!

Actually...if I were you Chris, I'd run on stage at random intervals to be the ghost again. "I shouldn't be dead!" (HAHAHA. Inside joke with Maz)

Classic BROXTAH moment. I love it!

G-OW: It was Cranium that was the third thing I have never experienced (along with Fight Club and White Castles). I've done the TimTam thing...but I won't say no to it. It was great seeing you guys again...the laughs were almost unbearable as my throat hurt trying to contain it. hehehe

Mari'er: did that video ever load up? I reset the video settings to 'public' viewing...I have no clue how to fix that problem...maybe blow on the screen???
And yeah..I could imagine you blurting that out w/ your sign in tow...and me saying, on stage, between my teeth, "Shut up, Maria. Sit down. GOSH!" hahaha

Ray: I do come back as a Japanese Tourist, with a terrible combover wig, in Bangkok...definitely worth the price of admission in itself *extreme sarcasm*. But yeah...I should show up in the helicopter and start laughing at Kim because she's about to get her ass left behind. Or, I could knock on the door during Room 317, interupting Kim and Ellen to see if they ordered room service. But my ideal upstage moment would be to bust out in my ghost character during American Dream. I'd cut the music and we'd start up Michael Jackson's THRILLER. I know the dance moves to the whole video!

Sheilz: Nice hangin' out again! We'll do it again soon!

Yeah I finally saw the vid! I thought it woulda been a permissions thing. Geeze Teenz' voice has become stronger! I was so proud *single tear* of her (and the lapdance couple).

Now I wanna see footage of your all-singing, all-dancing Thuy ghost ass. Was it wrong that I thought, "PORNO!" when you said you'd come back asking Kim and Ellen if they needed 'room service'?

...and when you replied above, "Shut up, Maria. Sit down. GOSH!" I said it like Napoleon Dynamite! hahaha...

Hahaha I am crying. Of course, it's probably a lot of guys' first instinct to unhook. Unless they are gay. Gay guys understand you're asking for a zip up and they WANT you to cover up that shit :P
